If you’re looking for a weekend full of family fun, rich local culture, and unforgettable entertainment just outside Houston, don’t miss the Katy Rice Harvest Festival. This signature fall event returns to Historic Town Square in front of Katy City Hall October 11–12, 2025, and it’s shaping up to be the best one yet.

What Is the Katy Rice Harvest Festival?

The Katy Rice Harvest Festival is a two-day celebration of community, heritage, and entertainment. Hosted by the city of Katy in partnership with the Rotary Club of Katy, the festival is more than a party — it’s a fundraiser, with 100% of net proceeds going back into local scholarships, nonprofits, and community initiatives.

Festival hours are:

  • Saturday, October 11: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 12: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Adult tickets are priced at $10, while kids aged 12 and under enter free. Carnival wristbands offering unlimited ride/game access are available for $30 per day or $50 for the full weekend.

Top Attractions & Highlights

Here’s a glance at what’s in store — there’s something for every age and interest:

Headline Concerts & Live Music

  • Saturday night features Sawyer Brown, a legendary country band known for high-energy shows and decades of chart-topping hits.
  • On Sunday, the festival spotlights exceptional female talent with a ladies’ lineup that includes Kylie Frey.

Carnival, Rides & Games

The carnival returns this year under MacGregor Entertainment’s operation. Expect a full suite of rides and midway games fit for teens and adults, plus a Toddler Zone with bounce houses, a petting zoo, and a Tiny Sports Zone for the youngest festivalgoers.

AgVenture Area

New this year is the AgVenture Area, which immerses visitors in Katy’s agricultural roots. Expect pony rides, interactive exhibits, and a hands-on petting zoo that highlights the city’s rice farming heritage.

Sports Zone / Game Watch

For sports fans, there’s a Sports Zone where major college and professional football games will be streamed live across the weekend. It’s a perfect bridge between festival excitement and football season energy.

Vendors, Food, & Artisan Goods

With 100+ vendor booths, you’ll find everything from handcrafted goods and local art to savory treats and festival food. Food trucks and specialty eats are a major part of the experience.

Exhibits, Parade & Community Events

The festival also features exhibits, a toddler zone, and a lively parade celebrating Katy’s heritage on October 4th..

Inaugural Car Show

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new addition to the Katy Rice Harvest Festival—our very first Car Show!

Why It’s Worth the Trip — Proximity & Convenience

One of the best parts about the Katy Rice Harvest Festival is its accessibility. Katy is located about 29 miles west of downtown Houston, making it an easy drive for city dwellers seeking a weekend escape.

For visitors coming from other Texas cities — or even further afield — Katy sits at a sweet intersection of major highways and is well served by the Houston metro area’s infrastructure. While the festival is strongly local, it’s close enough to major urban centers that you can combine this with a broader Texas adventure.

Tips for Attending & Making the Most of It

  • Plan ahead — tickets and carnival wristbands often sell out. Grab yours online before the event.
  • Bring the family — children under 12 enter free, and the toddler zones, petting zoo, and interactive zones ensure younger attendees are fully engaged.
  • Dress comfortably — you’ll want breathable clothing, comfortable shoes, hats, and sunscreen for daytime hours.
  • Stay updated — follow festival social media or visit thewebsite for updates about lineups, maps, and last-minute changes.
